Business Development Manager

UK/Germany/ or Belgium based

re.alto is a startup originating from the Elia Group. We have launched a digital marketplace for the exchange of data and services in the energy sector, and are currently working on the integration of various OEM of high energy appliances (EV, solar inverter, battery, heat pump,…) in a serviced Connect layer.
 
Our initial focus is on the B2B players active in renewable energy generation and home energy management systems in Germany, the UK, France, the Netherlands and Belgium.
 
To ensure a high-quality delivery of our product and good market-fit connection, we’re looking for a broad scope talent to help us understand our customers, ensure delivery, refine the product requirements and negotiate with the necessary OEMs to deliver.
 

Your responsibilities include:

Understanding customers
Acquire customer feedback, and engage actively in the product design and product prototyping-Establish a sales network of prospects, clients and partnerships in DACH, France, Benelux and UK-Maintain a client portfolio, manage the accounts, and understand their current and future needs-Develop an excellent understanding of the value creation levers in your market of reference thanks to your knowledge in the energy markets and understanding of the market mechanisms
 
Deliver to the client
Manage the client’s projects to deliver the product in accordance to their needs-Structure and coordinate the work with the Product and Development team in order to satisfy the needs of the client-Be responsible for the pricing towards the client taking into consideration the internal constraints and the category of the client
 
On-board data providers
Establish a partner network of OEM with a clear focus to on-board the most mature OEMs and the capacity to develop tactic to on-board the other OEMs in a very efficient way-Engage in and close sales negotiations with clients and OEM-Map the ecosystem in the various areas of high energy appliances (EV, heat pumps, solar inverters, water heaters, batteries,…) to identify the players, business processes and contractual setup
 
Contribute to the company and product
Collaborating with other members of the re.alto team to deliver company targets
 
Identify opportunities to improve existing or create new business models-Participate to building our brand and company image. Present the company at events, seminars,…
 

Your profile

  • You’re an entrepreneur. You love to explore new horizons and you’re eager to learn. -You’re inspired by the energy transition and want to contribute to it
  • You like digitalisation, and the new emerging data economy.
  • You don’t have to develop/code, yet you’d like to work in a digital environment/ecosystem.
  • You like to engage with (new) people, you can manage & lead a conversation-Your English is excellent. German is a plus.
  • We’re a remote team, so location is less important.But do understand we’ll ask you regularly to travel to Germany/Belgium, and other parts of Europe.
  • Preferably,you’re living in UK/FR/DACH/BENELUX.DACH is a plus.
  • Experience in either the electricity sector or API first technology is a plus. We’re happy to teach you, but we’re even happier if you can teach us.
  • Our organisation is a flat, small & agile one. We’re not looking for team managers, but for somebody who wants to grow her or his personal skills and knowledge in a fast and dynamic international team.

Work organisation

 
You’ll be working mainly from your home office or a coworking station. Although we mostly work remote, you will be asked to travel throughout Europe to engage with customers/partners and the rest of the team. The Business development team is composed of several different profiles, we encourage all team members to engage in mutual coaching and supportive behaviour at any time.
 

Remuneration

 
We’ll provide you with an attractive base salary, in combination with a variable part linked to the company performance. We’ll provide you with a laptop and a mobile phone. Both will be subject to re.alto’s IT and data policy which will be provided to you in due course. But mostly, we’ll offer you the opportunity to be an entrepreneur, to look & learn in the exciting new ecosystem of a digital energy market, to build your network and experience in the energy sector, to refine your agile project management skills, your negotiation skills, and your experience of working in a remote environment.
